Not bad.

We're new to all of this. We're learning about the struggles of starting a new venture, the excitement, the concerns, the questioning if it's worth it.... you know, real stuff.

We don't have the option of starting big, so we're starting small. With only 12 putters as part of the first batch... we have no room for a mis-stamp or an error, we have to be perfect. It's pretty stressful. Not only that, but we've completely sold out of the first batch of heads, so some of the ideas we were really excited to try out will have to wait for a future batch.

Two things. 1.) Thanks for believing in us and putting down a deposit for one of our first putters ever made, I probably wouldn't be writing this if we didn't have awesome people like you believing in us. 2.) We have a lot of faith and pride in these heads, they are designed with homage to some our favorite putter makers that ever lived.

With that being said, this little comment hit a nerve and is why i'm writing this blog post.

Why did this short little comment hit a nerve you ask? Do you know who Steve is? It's ok if you don't, I'll explain.

Steve Zastrow was Byron Morgan's #1 sales guy... and, if you ask us, Byron was one of the best damn putter makers to ever grace this earth. When I got into this whole black-hole of putter collecting, one of my first ever "cool custom putters" was a DH89, not only was it beautiful, but it had amazing feel as well -- it changed the putter game for me. Shortly after acquiring it 2nd hand, I knew I had to build my own. When I did -- I worked with Steve. He was a absolute pleasure to work with. A few months later ... I had my own custom GSS Byron Morgan putter. Not only that but I also had Byron's personal cell phone, he had sent me pics during the build and we chatted back and forth for some time. A world class guy. Life went on for a while and I suddenly had an urge to get another putter, this time a custom DH89. Unfortunately at that time I learned Byron was not in great health and he wasn't taking new custom orders. Shortly after, I heard of his passing and it felt surreal. I had his number in my phone, he couldn't be gone?

Long story short, I still have Byron's number on my phone, I still google his putters often and just look at them and wonder what amazing flat sticks he'd be churning out if he was here with us today.

He's an inspiration to us, and without Byron (and Steve), WE probably wouldn't be here either... the little dent he made in my life, had some way of getting us to where we are today.

The little comment "not bad," from us sharing a few pictures of our prototype head in a Facebook group called "Putter Enthusiasts Unlimited" really made us feel like we are on on the right path. We hope you continue to follow along on this exciting journey and one day allow us the pleasure to build you a putter that one day will inspire a story of your own to share.
